Sweat Treatment | Remedies for Excessive Sweating


Sweating is the release of a salty liquid from the body's sweat glands. This process is also called perspiration.Sweating is an essential function that helps your body stay cool. Sweat is commonly found under the arms, on the feet, and on the palms of the hands. Almost everyonesweats as a normal reaction to stress such as heat or exercise. This condition is called hyperhidrosis and occurs in one out of twenty people worldwide. 

Sweating is an important bodily function that allows us to control our body temperature, however, some people sweat excessively without stimulation. People with a fever or those exposed to very warm environments sweat, people with excessive sweating tend to sweat even without these circumstances. Excessive sweating may affect the entire surface of the skin, but often it is limited to the palms of the hands, soles of the feet, armpits, or genital area. 

Causes of Sweating:
* Alcohol
* Caffeine
* Cancer
* Exercise
* Fever
* Infection
* Low blood sugar
* Menopause
* Overactive thyroid gland
* Spicy foods
* Warm temperatures



Home Remedies for Sweating:

* Wear natural fabrics, like cotton. Man made fabrics do not allow your skin to breathe and make the sweat stay on your skin without being able to evaporate.

* Make sure you bathe on a regular basis, making use of a loofah type of sponge to thoroughly wash bacteria away from your skins surface. In warm temperatures or if you're especially active, try to shower in the morning and the evening.

* Drink one cup of tomato juice everyday for 1 week. The following week, Drink 1 cup of the juice, every other day. Then drink when needed.

* Spray deodorant or talc after shower.

* Soak cotton wool pads in baking soda and powder the underarms.

* Eat foods that contain a lot of zinc, as this has been shown to curtail sweat odors. Zinc rich foods can consist of whole grains, nuts, legumes and turkey.

* Apply some lemon juice on underarms after you get out of the shower to prevent the body odor.

* Slice a potato and wipe it under each clean and dry underarm a few times. Wait for it to dry and then apply deodorant.

* A smaller amount of daily salt intake and eat more calcium-rich foods such as milk, American cheese and yogurt.

* Mix 2 teaspoons of honey (preferably organic) with 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar. This mixture should be drunk on an empty stomach 3 times each day.
