Indian sub continent is very much found of spicy foods and normally cook them by using number of natural fruits and (fresh or dry) herbs which have many medicinal properties besides giving taste to the stuff. But most people are unaware that the herbs they cook and fruits they eat have rich medicinal properties which are providing them strength to fight the diseases. All herbs, fruits and spices come from plants and contain a variety of healing substances, vitamins and minerals. An old saying that kitchen is the best place to cure you beauty and health, is found very much relevant. Some of the commonly used species and fruits and their medicinal properties are - Spices:
Kalonji or its Oil: It holds very high position in Islam as according to Prophet Mohammad (SAW) “except death it have cure of all illness”. The scientists have discovered its use and developed medicine for various diseases. In US it has been advised to develop Medicine base on Kalonji which have great and unmatched medicinal property. Best way to use, make powder of kalonji and mix it with honey and have one tea spoon in morning and one at evening or make chashni of sugar or gur (d) and mix it and use it, or make a powder and consume one third of tea spoon with water in morning.
Turmeric or Haldi: Is a powerful antioxidant and has been used down the ages to stimulate the appetite and aid digestion. It is apparently more effective at easing pain than aspirin and ibuprofen, plus it can help relieve chronic pain for 50 percent of people struggling with arthritis.
Cumin Seeds or Zeera: Is a very good source of iron. Zeera, cumin, not only tastes good but helps in digestion of good food. Since time immemorial it has been used in the cooling zeera pani.
Black Pepper or Kali Mirch: Is one of the oldest and most commonly used spices.It is helpful in relieving indigestion as well as flatulence and brings ease in common colds.
Cardamom or Choti ElachiHas detoxifying properties which improves blood Circulation to the lung and can be helpful in preventing stomach cramps.
Coriander or Dhania: It has been used for thousands of years as a digestive aid and present studies and research shows that it increases the appetite and is widely used as tonic and ingredient in cough medicine.
Onions or Pyaaz: Have antibacterial and antifungal properties. Its daily consumption help in increasing bone density in women.
Saffron or Zafaran: It is good for heart and gives heart a boost,it’s has anti oxidant properties which help in fighting inflammation.
Curry Leaf or Kadi Patta: Have many medicinal properties. It stimulates digestive enzymes and helps break down food more easily. It is also good for eyesight; its regular use will improves eyesight.
Mint or Pudina: Have many medicinal properties and is considered excellent for indigestion problems and its regular use in any form either in form of fragrant chutney, fresh or dry leaves will relieve iron deficiency anemia
Garlic or Lasun: Have many medicinal properties. In India it’s is considered as tonic of poor people. Garlic’s gets its strong odour from Alicin, a Sulphur byproduct and have many healing properties. Daily consumption of garlic is believed to reduce heart disease risk by cutting down cholesterol levels by thinning the blood and acting as an anti oxidant.
Bay Leaves or Tej Patta: Is an excellent source of vitamin A and is good for healthy skin? It is also improve the appetite and maintain insulin function in diabetics.
Holy Basil or Tulsi: It holds important position in Islam and Hinduism. It has amazing healing power. It can be used in numerous ailments, including fewer, common cold, coughs and sore throats.
Fruits:
CherriesIt is very useful in arthritis as arthritis has become universal problem. Mostly women are struggling with arthritis, gout or chronic headaches. It acts as a painkiller and daily bowl of cherries could ease your ache without stomach upset.
Bananas or Kela: Are one of the highest sources of potassium and its regular intake
is also helpful in keeping blood pressure low.
Pineapple or Ananas: It is very helpful if you are gastric patent. Pineapple is naturally packed with proteolytic enzymes & digestive aids and one cup of fresh pineapple daily can cut painful bloating within 72 hours.
Apple or Seb: An apple a day keeps doctors away, they are loaded with fiber and are rich in vitamins and iron which make them excellent for weight loss efforts. They are natural and among the best remedy to cure constipation.
Pomegranate or Anar:
Is endowed with excellent medicinal properties and is rich in antioxidant, pomegranate and strengthens immunity. Its regular use will help in controlling & preventing heart disease, lower high blood pressure, and much more.
Mangoes or Aam: From ages mangoes are often used as blood builders as it have high potassium and magnesium, iron content and are useful for the treatment of anemia. It is also useful remedy for muscle cramps, stress, and heart problem.
Watermelon or Tarbooz: Is rich in potassium and is a good nutrient which helps in controlling blood pressure, it regulates the heart beat and possibly prevents strokes. It also helps in reducing cancer risk as it is a valuable source of Lycopene. It is also good source of testosterone.

If want to be fit then must walk at least two to five Km per day, must keep your feet clean and massage them at least for ten minutes daily.
