How Emotions affect our Health

Alkalizing Emotions-I will dare to guess that you have heard before that our emotions have an effect on our health. Positive emotions can improve your health, and the opposite is also true, negative emotions can be very detrimental to your physical health.

In fact there have been fantastic results attained with emotional treatments like the “Laugh Therapy “for cancer patients. Our emotions involve more than the intangible feeling. They produce chemical reactions in our body that have either alkalizing or acidifying effects, or the consequent effects on our health.
So these two info graphics show the creation cycle of both positive and negative emotions.
positive emo

Emotions such as Love, Joy and Happiness produce expansion in our heart, a warming effect that helps it work easier and better. And the fact that these images showemotions as a cycle is very accurate, because one emotion has the ability of generating others, both in terms of positive and negative emotions.
Emotions of Fairness, Openness, and Trust constitute the stability in our system, supporting the healthy function of organs like our spleen, stomach and pancreas. We have said it before that health begins in the guts, both for good or bad.
Continuing with the cycle, emotions of Courage and Righteousness allow us to breathe deeper and better, fuelling our body and our cells with oxygen and clean energy.
Gentleness, Calmness, and Silence are cleansing emotions. They offer a space of reconnection with us, of cleansing of our body, and in a more physical platform, they improve the performance of organs responsible of the disposal of toxins and waste from our system.
And the cycle closes, without any one feeling being more important than the others, with feelings of Kindness and Generosity. The giving energy, our connection to others. That giving back has renovating effects in our body, which transmit in maintaining youth in our organs.
We may eat right, and exercise regularly, but if our feelings are not positive, we are harming our health. So now let’s look at how negative emotions work inside of us:

negative emo
We have all experienced this first one at some point. Negative feelings cause a very uncomfortable sensation in our body, and it is not only a perceived condition, it is actually an imbalance in our body’s ability to perform.
Feelings of Hate, Cruelty and Impatience cause heart palpitations, high blood pressure, and chest pain. Feelings of Worry, Anxiety and Mistrust cause our digestion to not work properly, and impair our ability of disposing of waste and toxins. This is terribly acidifying because it becomes a snow ball. Undisposed waste creates more toxins and so more waste.
When we go through periods of Sadness and Depression, we do not breathe well, and we provide less oxygen to our system. This has an aging effect, in our organs, and also affects our digestive system producing constipation, with the same consequences described in the previous paragraph.
Fear is another very taxing feeling in terms of our health; it causes us to lose sexual drive and life force, and is also very acidifying in our system. And feelings of Anger, Frustration, Jealousy or Envy make us produce more cholesterol, and create an imbalance in our internal organs, affecting our digestion and our ability to detoxify.
As part of your health routine, make sure you exercise your feelings too. Allow yourself some time every day to laugh, to feel love, to rejoice, to enjoy the silence, or some nice classic music. Allow yourself to connect with others and with yourself. Liberate your heart from those negative emotions from the past. Forgive and forget. Embrace the small things in life and be thankful for them. Your body will thank you too.
