Aches
Arthritis is
the general term for a group of disorders caused by the in the inflammation
of the joints ans their surrounding tissues. If not checked in time it can
lead to permanent disability. As a matter of fact any symptom of this disease
should be checked and treated immediately.
Arthritis can strike early. More and more young people (below 35 years) are suffering from bone and joint pains because of improper diet and insufficient exercise. This attacks adult at the age of 40-45. Statistics show that half the people under 65 years of are are not spared by the affliction of this disease. Even young children can get it as Juvenile arthritis. Mostly the knee, hip and back are affected. The hand, feet or any other can be affected too.
Research has revealed that there are
more than 100 forms of arthritis and related diseases which cause stiffness and
pain in the joints.
Arthritis
Causes :
There is no specific cause of
arthritis but these may be some of the reasons for it:
· Arthritis
can be heredity, but it does not mean that if your parents had arthritis you
are also at risk.
· Excess body Weight with a belly can create the
problem.
· Injury in childhood or adolescence can create
arthritic problems, like Jaw Pain, even 20 years later.
· Lifting heavy weights and over-use of the
joints by repeated exertion.
· Inactivity like sitting job or a sedentary
life style.
· Calcium deficiency leads to backache, in the
lower back part, in both men and women.
· Longstanding stress also contributes to
backache and arthritis.
· Symptoms of arthritis can occur when toxin (
bio-active compounds) are released or leak from the gut and attach themselves
to various tissues. When they are attached to the joints, inflammation results.
· Sometimes pain in the joints and lower
backache is one of the early indication of water deficiency in the affected
joints. The water in the cartilage help provide the two ends of the bones to
glide over one another very freely.
Arthritis
Symptoms:
· There is
pain, stiffness, or swelling in or around a joint for more than two weeks in a
month. This can occur on one side or on both sides of the body.
· Pain in the knee or hip while climbing stair or walking two or three
blocks or after long periods of inactivity.
· Bony enlargements in the middle and end joints
of the fingers, which may not be painful.
· Arthritis is characterized by migrating pains
with occasional spells of dizziness as in the "Wind type Arthritis".
· Activities of the patient are limited due to
pain, aches, stiffness or the inability to move joints as earlier.
Arthritis
Precautions:
· Avoid
excessive salt, tea and coffee. Caffeine increase the muscle tension and makes
the nervous system more sensitive to pain.
· Say no to excessive alcohol and tobacco.
· Overcome stress, as too much stress is
harmful. Have an active life style; avoid sedentary life.
· Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily.
· Take 2 cups of milk daily, one in the morning
and one in the evening or time, to take care of your calcium requirements. Low
calcium levels in the body can lead to arthritis. When the supply of calcium is
low, the bones give up their calcium to the body and become weak. Thus an
adequate amount of calcium is very important.
