Home Remedies For Oily Skin



Skin plays vital role in enhancing an individual’s beauty. Dry skin, as well as oily skin; both affect the beauty of a person.  Oily skin delays in prevention of wrinkles but it causes acne, pimples, blackheads etc. that spoil the beauty of a person.

Causes Of Oily Skin

There are various reasons that cause oily skin such as unhealthy diet, age, hormonal imbalance etc. Though there are different types of remedies for oily skin, many women prefer home remedies.

Given Below Are Some Home Remedies For Oily Skin.

Wash With Milk

Milk has medicinal benefits. It is highly beneficial when you consume it as well as when you apply it on your skin. The only difference is that you consume milk that is boiled and apply on your skin that is raw. Though oily skin can be washed with lukewarm water and soap but in most cases the soap make your skin dry by draining out its moisture also. But if you wash or clean your face with raw milk it will remove excess oil from your skin and will also prevent skin dryness.
Milk not only removes excess oil from your skin but it also beautifies your skin and makes it fair.

Wash With Plane Water

Water is an excellent home remedy to get rid of oily skin. When you drink plenty of water, it flushes out toxins and excess oil from your body and also keeps your skin hydrated. But washing with tap water 2-3 times a days also helps a lot in removing excess oil from your skin.

Salt Spray

Salt spray is also an excellent home remedy to get rid of excess oil. Mix 1 teaspoon salt (in water) in a spray bottle and after mixing the salt in the water properly, spray its water on your face. While spraying salt water on your face you need to keep your eyes shut. After sometime, wipe the water with tissue paper. It will remove oil from your skin and also keep it moist. However, if you feel uncomfortable due to salty water, wash it with plane water after sometime.

Aloe Vera Gel For Oily Skin

Aloe vera gel has the property to absorb excess oil from your skin. Though this type of home remedy for oily skin is not as cheap as salty water or milk, you should apply it regularly if you can afford it. It also cleans the dirt and germs and prevents acne formation and pimples. If your skin becomes greasy occasionally, this gel will prevent grease formation. To obtain better result, you can use aloe vera gel twice or thrice daily. This plant contains very powerful antioxidants; hence gel made from this plant is very effective in providing glow to your skin. It also prevents several skin ailments.

Eggs

Eggs are full of nutrition. When it is consumed you get Vitamin D, protein, fatty acids and other vital nutrients which are very beneficial for your skin and hair. But egg yolk is also used as home remedy for beautiful hair and beautiful skin. When you apply egg yolk on your hair, it makes your hair healthy and lustrous. It also removes excess oil from your skin when you apply it on your skin. Apply egg yolkon your skin and allow it to remain there for some time. Thereafter wash it with plane water.  You can use it once or twice a week.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is also used as a home remedy to remove excess oil. Add little bitbaking soda in a soap that suits your skin and after mixing them properly, apply it on your skin. Allow it to remain there for some time and thereafter wash it with plane water. It also gives you relief from acne, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads etc.

Fruits & Vegetables

Some Fruits & Vegetables Are Also Used As Home Remedies For Oily Skin Which Are Given Below.

Papaya:

Pulp of raw papaya is an excellent cleanser. When you rub it gently on your skin it cleans dirt, stains and excess oil from your skin. Its pulp is also effective in softening your skin because it removes dead skin cells.

Tomatoes:

Tomatoes contain Vitamin C and lycopene which are very powerfulantioxidants. When tomatoes’ puree is applied on your skin it removes excess oil from your skin because of its astringent properties. Similarly you can apply grated cucumber on your oily skin. The process of applying cucumber is simple. Keep grated cucumber in your fridge and apply it once or twice a week on your skin. Allow it to remain on the surface of your skin for 15-20 minutes, and then wash with plane water. It will remove excess oil as well prevent wrinkles.

Honey

Honey is used in several ways to get rid of oily skin, which are given below.

Honey & Almonds

Honey alone is an excellent remedy for oily skin as well for several skin ailments. But when you mix honey and succulent almonds, the mixture gives you double benefits and removes dead skin cells and excess oil from your skin. Apply the mixture gently on your face and after some time wash it with plane water.
You can do it twice a week.

Honey, Lemon Juice, Fuller’s Earth & Egg White

Put lemon juice and honey in egg white (also add Fuller’s earth if available) and mix it properly. Apply the paste on your face and allow it to dry. After some time (15-20 minutes) wash it with tap water. You can notice the difference. This paste also acts as a face mask to remove dead skin cells.

Honey, Lemon Juice & Oatmeal

The mixture of honey, raw oatmeal and lemon juice acts as a face mask to clean the dead cells and to remove excess oil from your skin. Apply the mixture on your face and allow it to remain there for 15-20 minutes. Thereafter wash it with plane water. Your skin will appear oil free and will also start glowing.

Things To Avoid

If you have the habit of eating oily and junk foods, avoid them. Such foods cause oily skin and are also bad for your health.
If you have the habit of touching your face with your palms, avoid it. Hands contain dirt and oil so when you keep touching your face with your hands, dirt and oil keep passing to your skin.
