For people with excess fat, a double chin can be an unsightly sign that
that extra weight is beginning to show on their face. Though double
chins are caused by many things---diet, genetics and age, among
others---there are steps you can take to tone your jawline and win back
a youthful appearance. Here are some tips to turn two chins into one.
Lose Weight
Perhaps the most logical remedy for a double chin would be overall
weight loss. It is likely that you have a double chin because you are
overweight to some degree, so dropping some pounds should help.
Eliminate or greatly reduce processed foods from your diet, and try to
concentrate on more whole foods like lean meats, fish, fruits and
vegetables. Also, take a brisk walk each day to get your blood pumping.
Change Your Diet
o Monitor your caloric intake. Excess fat on your jaw is an outgrowth of
excess fat on your body, so changes in your diet will go a long way
towards tightening skin. Get Rid of Things recommends that you reduce
the number of processed carbohydrates and fats you eat in favor of
more fiber, fruits and vegetables.Avoid Soft drinks, chocolates, snacks,
junk food.
Work on Your Posture
o Improve your posture. By standing up straight, you strengthen your
facial muscles over time and allow your jawline to become prominent.
Sit up straight when you sit down and jut out your jaw slightly.
Sugar-Free Gum
o Chew sugar-free gum. Since the muscles you use to chew are the
same muscles that control your jaw and neck, you can further
strengthen them if you chew gum regularly. Sixwise recommends that
you chew sugar-free gum to avoid damaging your teeth.
Change Your Hairstyle
Cut your hair. Shorter haircuts draw attention to higher points on
your head---and away from your neck.
Fashion Changes
Buy shirts with open necklines. Much like short haircuts, a shirt that
expands the amount of visible skin around your neck will draw
attention away from it.

Facial & Other Exercises
Be regular in morning exercises. Do neck and chin exercise for double
chin problem.
*Rotate your neck 8-10 times a day so as to make it flexible especially if
you sit for long hours in front of the computer. Also do more of facial
exercise.
Open your mouth wide and pull your bottom lip over your lower teeth.
Now lift your jaw up and down as though you want to scoop something
up with your bottom teeth. Try to perform several repetitions a day.
o Sit straight up in a chair and lower your head so your chin touches
your chest. Slowly lift your head and tilt it as far back as you can.
Return to starting position and repeat several times a day.
Lie down on a firm surface facing the ceiling. Stick out your tongue as
far as it will go, count to 10, then slowly move your tongue back into
your mouth. Repeat several times a day.
*Pour just a teaspoon of sunflower oil into one hand, rub it into both
hands and apply the oil to your neck and face in long, upward and
outward sweeping movements. With the fingers, relaxed, use the
thumbs to press into the muscle underneath the jaw, starting in the
center of the chin and working outwards towards the angle of the jaw
bone as well as downwards movement.
Do it for 4 minutes everyday.
*Try tilting your head back so you are looking at the ceiling. Then purse
your lips tightly and move them from side to side like you are trying to
kiss yourself on the cheek. Then, with your head still back, make an
exaggerated chewing motion with your mouth.
*Begin an intensive exercise routine. Exercises that burn fat on other
parts of your body also reduce flab on your face and neck. Create and
follow an exercise regimen that includes both aerobic (running, biking,
swimming) and anaerobic (weight-lifting) exercises.
